What is Straighten?

Straighten indicates when curve is pulled into beeline, the dot in the curve is the maximum distance from the beeline .It can be indicated below the diagram.

Seen from the figure 1: the more large when straighten is, the more far beeline segment is from original curve and the little beeline segment can be generated. Otherwise the nearer beeline segment generating is from original curve and the more beeline segment will be generated. (How to adjust the value of the straighten? when curve is not enough circularity smooth, decrease the value of the straighten to let curve more circularity smoothing .At the same time vector data will increase according to it.

Figure 2 Straighten = 1.5 Figure 3 Straighten = 0.1

When straighten be equal to 0.1, vectorization curve is obviously more circularity smoothing than which at Straighten equal to 1.5. When you find beeline is not enough straight, increase the value of the straighten to get more straight.

How to set the threshold param?

Binary thresholding of color bitmap, if image has been a single bitmap , you can ignore this step as Raster To Vector is software for designation to processing engineering drawing, in which processing image are all binary images , we must convert image into binary image before we begin to process in vector.

Figure 1 Figure 2

Such as picture, oldGray is grayness before completed binary process. newgray is grayness after completed Thresholding . When oldGray is bigger than Threshold, newgray is equal to 255(white), otherwise 0(black). After completed Thresholding, image has been converted into a new image that consists of blank and white color.

Change auto switcher on , RasterToVector can automatically wok out a reasonable threshold value according to image grayness Historygram. And you can move red line to adjust binary threshold value and preview the results of thresholding.

How to import raster image from photo album?

1:Click Select Raster on the upper left of the screen, and select the "Select Photo" menu.

2:An image selector will be popped up, from which the photos to be vectorized can be chosen to start vectorization.

How to save vector result?

Click to save the vector result and export DXF files.

How to vector unit?

Unit setting support the setting of four units, namely, px, inch, mm and cm.

The default unit of px is used by RasterToVector to save vector data, which can be changed to inch, mm or cm.

Resolution refers to the pixel per inch. A resolution of 96 means an inch is composed of 96 pixels. Hence, the higher the resolution, the clearer the photo. RasterToVector can calculate the size of the vector data based on resolution and support vector data export.
